| Norcal: 11-year-old Spanish-speaking Maribel Cuevas was arrested in April for rock attack The confrontation happened in a poor district of Fresno, in central California, where Maribel Cuevas lives with her Spanish-speaking family. The girl, who speaks little English, has admitted throwing a rock at a group of boys she says were pestering her with water balloons as she walked down the street. An ambulance was called, but arrived flanked by three police patrol vehicles. A helicopter meanwhile hovered overhead. The 11-year-old was then read her rights twice in English before being detained. The girl, when asked what she thought would happen if she threw the rock, replied that it would make him "bleed". |

Calif. Councilman Convicted for Drugs A Sacramento County jury convicted Fairfield City Councilman John A. English of possessing methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia while inducing his nephew to lie to investigators. Authorities arrested English, 53, on Dec. 31 at Sacramento International Airport after baggage screeners found methamphetamine and two pipes in his carry-on luggage. In addition to the drug charges, English was accused of coaching his adult nephew about how to take responsibility for the drugs. The nephew, Leslie Davis, first told investigators the drugs and pipes were his, but later recanted. Prosecutors used DNA evidence. |

| Rape suspect could be in Mexico A San Francisco man is suspected in a series of rapes and may have fled to Mexico, according to documents supporting an arrest warrant signed by a judge. Edwin Adelson Palacios, 28, is suspected of raping a 19-year-old woman Aug. 26 in his Ford Expedition near Larkin and Polk streets, court records filed Friday show. He allegedly attacked her after seeing her leave her boyfriend's car during a dispute. |

He also was found guilty on all 14 counts of raping and molesting seven of his underage daughters and nieces. The Zebra Killings - A Forgotten Hate Crime  The Zebra Killings occurred in the San Francisco bay area between 1972 and 1974 and left 71 people dead. They were dubbed the Zebra Killings because of the radio channel used by the police investigating the case (channel Z). The name would take on a more sinister meaning as it became apparent that a group of blacks was systematically stalking and killing whites simply because of the color of their skin. - (Norcal) - (hatecrimes) THE ZEBRA KILLINGS In the early-to-mid 1970's hundreds of White men, women and children were murdered by black Muslims as an initiation to an organization called the "Death Angels." Once they became a Death Angel, black wings were affixed to their photograph and put on display along with the other members at highly secret meetings. In order to "earn their wings", prospects were required to kill either 9 White men, 5 White women or 4 White children. The purported reason for the difference in number of victims needed to become a member was that it was believed to require more fanaticism to murder women and kids. The real reason was that it was much easier to kill those who were weaker and less likely to fight back. |

police report a stranger sexually assaulted a pregnant woman in her apartment.
He knocked on her door and asked for directions. When she gave them he
left but returned and asked to use the phone but when she tried to close
the door he forced his way inside and sexually assaulted her. She
started screaming and told him she was pregnant. The woman needed stitches.
He is dark skinned with a 1-inch ponytail and was frizzy on the
