• Accused China smuggler Lai in more Canadian touble
  British Columbia - Lai Changxing, one China's most wanted fugitives, was ordered detained by a Canadian immigration adjudicator on Friday for violating rules of an earlier release.  Police arrested Lai last week for violating terms of his house arrest, after he allegedly attended a nighttime party hosted by people linked to an Asian organized crime gang, according to immigration officials. Lai is waiting for the Canadian Supreme Court to decide if it will hear his bid to avoid extradition to China, where he is accused of running a ring that smuggled billions of dollars in goods into that country in the mid-1990s.
