migrant Kamran Akhtar Pleads Guilty to Immigration Charges CHARLOTTE,
N.C. Oct. 8, 2004 — A man taken into custody after a police officer saw him
videotaping Charlotte's skyscrapers has agreed to plead guilty to immigration
charges. Kamran Akhtar signed a deal Thursday agreeing to spend up to six
months in prison before being deported to his native Pakistan.

test but cannot prove U.S. citizenship get a purple card with a photo and a label
that reads, "Certificate of Driving -- For Driving Purposes Only, Not Valid
for Identification." The League of United Latin American Citizens filed
suit in July, saying Tennessee's two-tiered system was discriminatory, and asked
the judge to halt the program. But U.S. District Court Judge Todd J. Campbell
said in his ruling that the group had not shown there would be "imminent
irreparable harm if an injunction does not issue."

JOSE – A day laborer was legally sane when he kidnapped and raped a 9-year-old
girl who was held captive for days before he let her go, a jury decided Tuesday.
The same jury convicted David Montiel Cruz last week on all 10 felony charges
