The woman is said to have believed that her young son was "possessed by the devil" when she hacked him to death with an axe and gouged out his eyes with a screwdriver. Afrikaner Resistance Leader Released
South Africa -- Eugene Terre'Blanche, the leader of the Afrikaner Resistance Movement, was released Friday from the prison where he was serving a five-year sentence for attempted murder and assault. Terre'Blanche, a "white extremist" well-known in South African politics for two decades, was paroled for good behavior after serving three years for the (alleged) savage beating of one of his black workers for eating on the job. The man was permanently disabled.
