Black Cibolo man charged in fatal beating of White man at Amtrak station   SAN ANTONIO - Cibolo resident Michael Joseph Fobbs, 21, remains in jail after allegedly beating another man to death at the Amtrak station in downtown San Antonio. The medical examiner released the name of victim on Tuesday morning. He’s identified as Joseph Keith Richard of Marble Falls. Richard was three days shy of his 57th birthday when he was killed late last Thursday night. Fobbs suddenly launched an unprovoked attack on Richard, who was sitting on a bench outside the station’s waiting room, the report stated. Witnesses said Fobbs repeatedly hit Richard with his fists, leaving him bloodied. - (Black-on-white) |

5 blacks indicted on assault, ethnic intimidation charges in attack on Whites   Five people have been indicted in connection with a downtown attack that followed the Taste of Cincinnati. Jon Deters, 24, was assaulted on West Ninth Street as he was walking his sister to her car on Memorial Day weekend. His father is Hamilton County prosecutor Joe Deters. On Tuesday, Matthew Johnson Jr., 23, Joshua McCoy, 21, Onea Lapsley, 22, Yahdea Brown, 19, and a 17-year-old were each indicted on one count of felonious assault, two counts of assault, one count of aggravated riot and one count of ethnic intimidation. A witness previously said the attack was racially motivated, noting "that was quite obvious in the slurs that were being thrown out.” The suspects are black, while Deters is white. "If that lady hadn't stepped in, Jon would be dead because he was a white kid and it's disgusting either way," Joe Deters said. Joe Deters said his son's girlfriend was also assaulted in the attack. Black Thieves Target Cars Parked Near Popular Philly Park (by White Folk)     A recent rash of break-ins has runners, walkers and bikers at a popular Philadelphia park on edge. According to investigators, thieves are hiding out in the woods of Wissahickon Valley Park, waiting to break into cars and steal valuables. Despite three recent arrests, investigators say the number of thefts is increasing. One victim, Mary Pat Kessler, says she went for a run on Valley Green Road at the park early Saturday morning around 5:30 a.m. Kessler claims police discovered that thieves had broken into her car before she even got back. According to police, Daniel Duncan, Aja Whetstone and Kisha Duncan arrived in the parking lot inside a beige 2007 Lincoln MKZ early that evening. The suspects allegedly took out a screw driver and pried the top of the driver side door of a parked car. They were then arrested by officers at the scene. - (Black-on-white) |
Police Search for Black Suspect in East Hartford Murder of White Man  Police are searching for the man accused of fatally shooting a 44-year-old East Hartford resident the night of July 2 and have obtained an arrest warrant charging him with murder. Lawrence Williams, 18, of 1780 Main Street in East Hartford, will be charged with criminal attempt to commit first-degree assault, criminal use of a firearm, first-degree reckless endangerment and second-degree threatening in connection with the shooting death of Michael Mikulse. Mikulske was shot three times in a driveway near the VFW post at 1268 Main Street in East Hartford the night of July 2. He died from his injuries. - (Black-on-white) |

White Santa Rosa jewelry store owner defended his Santa Rosa business with a gun against two black armed robbers   He was faced with a do-or-die decision when he returned fire at two suspected armed robbers Thursday afternoon. “I was the shooter,” Ty Visscher said Friday evening, adding he did not want to share specific details while police continue to investigate and as one of the suspects remained at large. “I was defending everybody who was in the store,” Visscher said. “I gave them (the suspects) the opportunity to drop their weapons and they fired at me. Thank god they missed. It was awful, horrible. But I would always put my life before the people I love.” At least one of the suspects was hit by gunfire inside Bennett Valley Jewelers, in a strip mall on Yulupa Avenue on the southeast outskirts of Santa Rosa. That man, identified as Jimmy L. Terry, 43, was tackled by an off-duty police officer outside the store as the man attempted to flee. Terry was taken to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital with what were described with life-threatening injuries. He remained at the hospital Friday under police guard. The other male suspect, who remained unidentified Friday, fled in a red Ford Mustang, which authorities found abandoned nearby. A large search of the adjacent neighborhood, Annadel State Park and Spring Lake Regional Park did not locate the suspect, described as a black male with a large build and dreadlocks, in his early twenties. - (Black-on-white) |

Black (rapist) arrested in Florida for murder of (white ex-girlfriend) Medford mother Sarah Goode  MEDFORD, N.Y. -- Police have made an arrest in the murder of a Medford mother who was found dead in June after disappearing. Dante Taylor, 19, of Mastic, was arrested July 10 in Florida by Suffolk County Police and United States Marshals on an unrelated arrest warrant. He was taken to Suffolk County and charged July 12 with the second-degree murder of Sarah Goode. Police weren't immediately saying whether Taylor and Goode knew each other. Goode's body was found in a wooded area in Medford June 12 and the remains were identified the next day. Volunteer searchers smelled a foul odor and alerted authorities, who found the decomposing body near Camden Court, about a half a mile from where Goode's BMW was found several days before. Goode, a medical technician, had not been seen since June 6, after a night with friends. Her car was found June 8 after a relative called police. (Black) Teens plead guilty to 2013 crime spree, murder of White man   INDIANAPOLIS - Two teens charged in a deadly crime spree last year both pleaded guilty in a hearing Wednesday morning. Gabriel Edwards and Sirquain Burr both accepted plea deals from prosecutors. The pair could have been exposed to 175 years in prison, but they will get less under the plea bargains. John Yingling, 38, was shot and killed as he sat in his truck in his driveway. Yingling’s widow wept during much of Wednesday’s hearing. - (Black-on-white) |

Black teen won’t go to trial for beating after White elderly victim dies  CLARKSDALE, Miss. — The teen accused of beating an elderly Clarksdale woman will not go to trial due to her death. Shirley Gordon, the only witness prosecutors had, died last December at age 79, and she’s the only witness to the crime and the only one that could identify Edward Malane, Jr. as her attacker. Malane allegedly inflicted the injuries on the elderly Gordon with a concrete block while in the act of stealing her car. Gordon said Malane, who was just 14 years old at the time, followed her home from a nearby convenience store and took her PT Cruiser when she went into her house to get a debit card. Shirley Gordon never got the chance to see Malane stand trial for assaulting her, and after her death, a Coahoma County Circuit Court judge tossed the case out of court with an order of nolle prosequi, meaning “we shall no longer prosecute.” “It was kind of a shock to me. It said that it had been dismissed June 6th. And my heart hurt because I felt like an injustice had been done to my mom,” Gordon’s daughter, Tina Wilbanks, said. Wilbank’s is relieved Malane will serve 20 years for kidnapping and assaulting a 4-year-old boy in Tunica County while out on a reduced bond. - (Black-on-white) |

White 62-year-old woman beaten, robbed outside Brandon theater by cowardly lowlife black purse-snatcher  A Hillsborough County woman is recovering after she was attacked and robbed walking into a movie theater Tuesday. The attack happened outside the AMC Regency in Brandon shortly before 6 p.m. The victim said she is still terrified knowing her attacker is on the loose and asked us not to disclose her identity. "It was so vicious and so violent and so mean," the victim said. Surveillance video released by the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office shows a man running from the parking lot where they said he attacked the 62-year-old woman and stole her purse. She told us she was walking into this movie theater for a charity event when the attack happened. "I was holding my purse like this with two hands and when he grabbed the back strap. It spun me around," she said. She said the attacker then punched her repeatedly in the side of her head and kicked her. "There was a point when I realized I was in the fight of my life," the victim said. "I think the thing that makes me the angriest is that there is lowlife people out there who just prey on people and do this sort of thing," she said. - (Black-on-white) |
Police hopeful (black) man’s haircut will help lead to an arrest for sex assault on White woman PITTSBURGH — Police said a man sexually assaulted a woman in Friendship Thursday, and they’re hoping his haircut will help lead to an arrest. Investigators said the incident happened around 4 p.m. on Roup Street. Investigators said the woman was able to fight off a man who approached her with a knife, sexually assaulted her and threatened her life. The victim said she lives in the area and was confronted by the man as she returned to her home from a workout. The woman said she was fought her attacker, and the suspect ran away from the scene. Officers called to the area searched for more than an hour and were unable to find the person in question. Police are calling this a random attack. “We’re very hopeful that someone, from the denoscriptions can say, ‘oh we saw this man,’ and give us an idea of his movements as he fled the scene,” said Pittsburgh police spokeswoman Sonya Toler. Police said the man is black, in his 30s, around 6 feet 2 inches tall and weighs between 160 to 170 pounds and had lines and a star design cut into his hair. - (Black-on-white) |
“You just came out swinging:” (Black) Illinois man accused of brutally punching a White man near UW-Whitewater  WHITEWATER — This week, an Illinois man was accused of throwing one punch near the UW-Whitewater campus. The legal aftermath means he’ll face a felony charge in court. Now, the victim is sharing the results of the punch — and the pictures show the brutality of that one swing. 20-year-old Kollin Kozik was struck on March 2nd. He was hit hard enough to eventually lose two teeth. The strength of the impact forced his bottom teeth through his lip — requiring surgery. Prosecutors say 20-year-old Michael Beasley-Hart, a UW-Whitewater student, threw what’s described as “a full knockout punch”. Some of Kozik’s friends got into an altercation, but he says he walked away and was blindsided by a student he had never met. Since the injury, Kozik has gone through the extraction of a tooth and temporary and permanent bridges. He may have permanent nerve damage, and has difficulty chewing solid foods — even months after it happened. Kozik expects his medical bills to eclipse $10,000. - (Black-on-white) |
(Black) Man who set himself, (White female) Cedar Hill officer on fire identified   CEDAR HILL — The name of the man accused of setting himself and a Cedar Hill police officer on fire has been released. The suspect is identified as 27-year-old Terrance Dunn. He's at Parkland Memorial Hospital right now with extensive burns and will ultimately be held on a $100,000 bond. The officer who caught fire with him is also recovering. She faces surgery for her injuries. Surveillance video captured the moment Officer Ann McSwain rolled on the ground in an attempt to smother flames after she caught fire at a Cedar Hill shopping center. It happened after she attempted to talk to Dunn before he set himself on ablaze. Two other Cedar Hill officers also caught fire, but they suffered minor burns. - (Black-on-white) |

(Black) man gets 3 life sentences plus 60 years for killing three members of his (white) live-in sexual partner’s family    The man who murdered three members of a Hoffman Estates family and seriously wounded another in a 2009 knife attack was sentenced today to three life sentences without parole plus an additional 60 years. D’Andre Howard, 26, showed no emotion as Cook County Judge Ellen Mandeltort delivered the sentence in a crowded Rolling Meadows courtroom. Howard, who was convicted of first-degree murder and attempted murder in June, faced a mandatory life sentence in the stabbing deaths of Laura Engelhardt, 18; her father Alan Engelhardt, 57; and her grandmother Marlene Gacek, 73; and the attack on Laura’s mother, Shelly Engelhardt, who survived with serious injuries. - (Black-on-white) |

(Black) Ex-convict found guilty in 2012 Oakland fatal stabbing of white woman  OAKLAND, Calif. — An ex-convict was convicted of first-degree murder Thursday for the stabbing death of a 26-year-old Berkeley woman at an East Oakland apartment complex in 2012. An Alameda County Superior Court jury deliberated for less than a full day before delivering its verdict against 36-year-old Jamaal Prince of Berkeley in the death of Jennifer Kingeter, who was found stabbed to death in an apartment at 5800 Walnut St. in Oakland at about 2:30 a.m. on Dec. 28, 2012. Prosecutor Danielle Hilton said Prince brutally attacked Kingeter, a hairstylist and Laney College student, because she refused to have sex with him. - (Black-on-white) |

Sentenced: (black) 15-year-old Illahje Davis to spend 10 years in prison in death of (White) Ronald Forbes  MILWAUKEE — A Milwaukee County judge sentenced Illahje Davis to 10 years in prison plus another six years of extended supervision. The 15-year-old girl killed a man while joyriding in a stolen car. Davis will be an adult when she is no longer incarcerated. When the crime happened, she was just 13. Davis was convicted of first degree reckless homicide in the killing of 57-year-old Ronald Forbes. Prosecutors say on August 6th, 2012, when Davis was just 13, she and a group of friends stole six vehicles and attempted to steal others. Prosecutors suggested Davis was the ringleader. At one point, prosecutors say Davis was speeding near 65th and Hampton — and that’s where she struck Forbes, who was riding his bike. - (Black-on-white) |

Second (black) suspect charged in slaying of (White female) Fort Worth auctioneer   Police have charged a second man with capital murder in the slaying of a Fort Worth auctioneer in April. Raan Henderson, 25, was charged Tuesday in the shooting death of 54-year-old Sheila Johnson during a robbery April 13 at the 4A Good Auction in the 3900 block of Mansfield Highway. He also faces an aggravated robbery charge in the case, police said. He has been in the Tarrant County jail since April 28 for parole violation and a burglary of a building charge. His bail has been set at $325,000 on all charges. Henderson’s brother, 28-year-old Romon Henderson, was charged with capital murder in Johnson’s death in May. An additional aggravated robbery charge was added Tuesday. He remains jailed in lieu of $235,000 bail. Johnson reported several break-ins at the auction barn since December. She shot at burglars who broke into the business the night she was killed. They returned fire, authorities said. - (Black-on-white) |

Black arrested in murder of White pizza delivery man   SAN ANTONIO - A 35-year-old man has been named as a suspect in the death of a Papa John's pizza deliveryman who was run over by his own car. Members of the U. S. Marshal's Lone Star Fugitive Task force said they found Robert Carlos Delcid Tuesday night hiding in a motel near Loop 410 and Broadway and took him into custody without incident. Delcid later was turned over to San Antonio police detectives to face a charge of capital murder. An arrest warrant affidavit stated that a friend of Delcid told investigators he was with him when William O'Neill, 46, was run down and killed. - (Black-on-white) |

Black arrested in shooting death of White driver   DALLAS -- An arrest has been made in the May shooting death of an insurance salesman. Joshua Tubbleville, 33, was shot inside his car in Oak Lawn on May 30. He died at a local hospital. Police say Derrick Madison, 24, has been arrested and charged with murder. He's accused of robbing and shooting Tubbleville at the intersection of Oak Lawn and Lemmon Avenues just before 6 a.m., before fleeing on foot. Tubbleville hit a tree at a gas station after he was shot, causing him to lose control of his car. The two men are believed to have just left a restaurant, and police say they found food inside the car. Madison's fingerprint was found inside the victim's apartment and on his car. Witness testimony and DNA on a baseball cap near the scene also linked the crime to Madison. - (Black-on-white) |

Black teen arrested in connection with shooting death of White Muskogee woman found on porch July 2  MUSKOGEE, Okla. - A suspect is behind bars for the shooting death of a Muskogee woman last week. Rachelle Hayes, 48, was found dead late July 2 on the porch at a house on Douglas Street. She had multiple gunshot wounds . Police say Hayes had no relationship to the man who lived in the house where she was found and she had no connections to the neighborhood. On July 7, police made an arrest in Hayes murder. Jordan Williams, 19, was arrested at a home in Muskogee. He was booked into the Muskogee County Detention Facility on several local warrants and a complaint of first-degree murder. - (Black-on-white) |

Updated: Elderly White Man, 97, Killed in Home Invasion, Black Ethiopian Suspect Arrested - (added image of victim)  DES MOINES, Iowa — Des Moines police have arrested Ngor Peter Makuey, 19, in connection with a homicide Wednesday night. It happened at Vista Kennels at 4400 Northeast 46th street in Des Moines. Harriet Anderson, 94, called police at 7:44 p.m. saying a young man broke into their home, assaulting her and her husband, Rupert Anderson. Paramedics took Rupert to the hospital where he died. Rupert was 97-years-old. Rupert was born in Ankeny and served in the U.S. Navy. Harriet was also taken to the hospital and is in stable condition. People were called in to take care of the dogs. This is the sixth homicide in Des Moines this year. Makuey is not a U.S. citizen. He is from Ethiopia. Makuey requested the judge notify the Ethiopian Consulate of the arrest. - (Black-on-white) |

30-year-old black man charged with open murder in shooting death of White motorcyclist Jake Rameau  MUSKEGON, MI – A 30-year-old man has been charged with open murder in connection with the June 26 shooting death of motorcyclist Jake Rameau in Muskegon Heights, according to an official in the Muskegon County Prosecutor's Office.Muskegon County Jail Muskegon County Chief Assistant Prosecutor Timothy Maat said Robert Earl Gee has been charged with open murder in relation to Rameau's death. Maat said the charges, are related to evidence providing "sufficient evidence" that Gee is responsible for Rameau's death. Gee previously was taken into custody July 4 on a concealed weapons violation. Rameau was killed when his bike crashed around 1:55 a.m. Thursday, June 26, in the 2400 block of Peck Street. After it was initially reported as a single-vehicle traffic death, an autopsy found a bullet wound in Rameau's body, making it a homicide investigation. Dashawn Andrew Boylan, 25, also has been arraigned on charges of Unlawful Driving Away of an Automobile (UDAA) in connection to the incident. Steven Lynn Bailey, 26, and Harry Darnell McBride, 46, also have been arraigned in connection with Rameau's death. - (Black-on-white) |

Black charged with murdering two White motel workers   Attorneys for a man charged with killing two people at the Vacation Host Inn are asking for more information after DNA from one of the victims was discovered on a gun collected at the home where the defendant was arrested. On Monday, parties involved in the case of Kelvin Lee Coleman Jr., 38, stood before Circuit Judge Robert Hodges for a hearing in the case concerning two defense motions. The defense asked for the state to turn over phone records and DNA information that are part of the state’s documents in the case, known as discovery. Coleman was arrested on March 13, 2013, the day after he was accused of fatally shooting Lester Carter, 42, and Glendora Johnson, 54, at the Vacation Host Inn located off South Pine Avenue in Ocala. 3 in custody in fatal shooting of (White) Gary police officer   Authorities say they didn't have to go far to make three arrests in the fatal shooting of a Gary police officer: Police found them all in a home less than a block away. Sheriff John Buncich described one of the men as a "person of interest" in the slaying of Officer Jeffrey Westerfield, who was killed as he sat in his patrol car Sunday morning. Buncich said the other two were arrested along with the suspect about 3 p.m. at a home in the 2600 block of Jackson Street, around the corner from where Westerfield was killed. - (Black-on-white) |

Black man gets 60 years for 'cold-blooded despicable' murder of White New Baden man   A St. Clair County judge on Thursday sentenced Lortez D. Thomas of Washington Park to 60 years in prison for the murder of a New Baden man. St. Clair County Circuit Judge Jan Fiss called the murder "cold-blooded" and "despicable." Thomas, 35, faced a minimum sentence of 45 years in prison and maintained his innocence during a sentencing hearing. A jury in May found Thomas guilty of shooting Eric Mollet in the head and hiding the body in a vacant house that was set on fire. Jurors decided Thomas was not guilty of raping two female witnesses. The charred remains of Mollet's body was found Nov. 16, 2008, in a burned house in the 1800 block of North 60th Street in Washington Park. - (Black-on-white) |

White Indianapolis police Officer Perry Renn killed in shootout with black suspect  INDIANAPOLIS - An Indianapolis police officer was killed Saturday night in a shootout with a man armed with an assault weapon, investigators said. Officer Perry Renn, a 22-year veteran of the force who was described as a well-liked patrolman, died after being rushed to Eskenazi Hospital. Lt. Chris Bailey said two officers responded to a report of shots fired near the intersection of 34th Street and Forest Manor Avenue at 9:24 p.m. Four minutes later, at 9:28 p.m., the call went to dispatchers that an officer was down. Renn and another officer encountered a man later identified as Major Davis Jr., 25, in an alley nearby. At that point, gunfire erupted, Bailey said. Davis was listed in critical condition and underwent surgery at Eskenazi Hospital. He is expected to be charged with murder. - (Black-on-white) |

Trial set for black suspect in 2009 slaying of White Metro Police officer   The trial of a man accused of gunning down a Metro Police officer during a botched robbery at the officer’s home in North Las Vegas has been set for Nov. 10, nine days short of the fifth anniversary of the shooting. The suspect, Prentice Marshall, was identified by Metro Police as one of six Wood gang members involved in the Nov. 19, 2009, slaying of Trevor Nettleton, a three-year Metro veteran. Nettleton, who was not in uniform, arrived home from work shortly before midnight when he was confronted and shot in his garage in the 1100 block of Emerald Stone Avenue, near Lone Mountain Road and Donna Street. Police said it was one of two robberies gang members planned and attempted to carry out. According to police, Nettleton returned fire before he was killed, striking Marshall once in the groin. The state is seeking the death penalty for Marshall, 23, and Saul Williams, 25, whose trial is set for Sept. 22. Two other men — Adrian Pena, 23, and Quadrae Scott, 23 — have since pleaded guilty to second-degree murder. Another two defendants, brothers Michael and Emmitt Ferguson, pleaded guilty to reduced charges of accessory to murder. - (Black-on-white) |

5 black suspects charged in fatal North Knoxville shooting of White man  A suspect wanted for murder turned himself in to police late Friday morning. Investigators said 20-year-old Dwaine Love was among five suspects accused in a fatal shooting in a north Knoxville home at 2837 Valley View Drive early Thursday morning. A man who was shot, 21-year-old John Huddleston, died at UT Medical Center. A woman,18-year-old Syndey Smith, was shot in the leg, but is expected to survive. A dog was also shot and killed. Officials charged the suspects with first-degree murder and attempted robbery, among other charges. The other four suspects were arrested Thursday. The five suspects are 20-year-old Dwaine Love, 21-year-old Braylen Bennett, 23-year-old Charles Boyd, 19-year-old Rodrick Curtis and 23-year-old Melvin King. - (Black-on-white) |

UK: Two teenage girls arrested after London gang stab father, 38, to death in front of horrified parents taking children home from nearby schools  Four people including two teenage girls were being questioned last night over the fatal stabbing of a father in front of children and parents on the school run. They were arrested along with two young men after 38-year-old Zydrunas Laurinavicius was murdered on Thursday afternoon. The builder was walking along a street with his father when he was jumped by a gang who tried to run off with his bag. When he refused to hand it over, they took out knives and slashed his arm and chest, witnesses said. One of the group also attacked his father, who survived only to watch his son die in his arms. Last night, devastated friends paid tribute to Mr Laurinavicius, a Lithuanian described as a ‘dedicated worker and loving father’. Officers from the Met Police, meanwhile, continued to question two men aged 19 and 20 and two girls aged 16 and 17 in connection with the killing. Mr Laurinavicius, who has lived in the UK for many years, had been working with his father Pranas, 67, to renovate a £1.6million detached house in Hendon, north west London. They were targeted as they walked in a leafy area close to St Mary’s Church of England High School, Hendon School and a nursery as parents were taking children home. Cowardly Black Teens Arrested For Elderly White Woman Walmart Robbery  FORT WORTH - Two teens have been arrested for the beating and robbery of a 73-year-old woman in a Fort Worth Walmart parking lot. Fort Worth police say 17-year-old Bobby Wilson and a 15 year old girl have been booked for aggravated robbery charges. The girl’s name and mugshot are not being released because she is a minor. Police released details of the robbery and surveillance video showing the victim being assaulted on June 27 in the Walmart parking lot, located at 2900 Renaissance Square. The suspects were seen leaving the scene in a mid-nineties tan Ford Thunderbird. As a result of tips from the public, police say they were able to identify Wilson and his accomplice. Police: White woman hurt in 2-on-1 black attack in Walmart parking lot  BATTLE GROUND, WA - What started with a driver trying to back out of a parking spot escalated into a 2-on-1 attack, police say. "I've got a couple of bumps," Lauri Kennedy said, describing her injuries. "A real bad one here in back." She's still treating the wounds from an unexpected attack. "I never in a million years thought it would escalate like that, because I was very polite," Kennedy said. She said it started with a simple request in the parking lot of a Battle Ground Walmart on Wednesday night. "I said, 'excuse me, would you mind pulling up a little bit so I could get out?'" she said. Kennedy was stuck. An SUV parked behind her car as she was getting ready to back out, and two women were standing outside the car talking with the driver. So, Kennedy asked again. "'Excuse me, ma'am, could you please have them move forward so I can leave?' Exact tone," she said." She never expected the response to come like it did. "She goes, 'what do you want me to do?' and got real aggressive," Kennedy said. "She said, 'what do you want me to do, grab your face?'" That's exactly what she said came next. She got out of her car to defend herself. "She grabbed a hold of my hair and I was down on the ground and they were both punching me," Kennedy said. She managed to get away, but so did her attackers. They describe one subject as a black woman in her 20s, short, heavy and with hair in a ponytail. 4 black men charged in murder of White restaurant owner Jim Brennan, one an employee CLEVELAND HEIGHTS, OH - Jim Brennan had been murdered execution style in a robbery on Monday. Turns out one of the four suspects now c harged with aggravated murder and robbery had a job-at The Brennan's Colony restaurant. Brennan had recently hired 23-year-old Brandon Jones to work in the kitchen. Police won't say if Jones was in the restaurant Monday when Brennan was murdered. Cleveland Heights Police Chief Jeff Robertson said "You can't get infuriated. You hurt and are sad just like all the people who knew Jim Brennan. Our job is to find out what happened and that's what we're doing." Also charged was Brandon's brother, 21-year-old Darien Jones, and brothers 26-year-old Devon Turner and Paul Turner, all of Cleveland. Springfield police name black suspect in 3-year-old cold case of murdered White man  Police in Robertson County have named a suspect in a cold case that has been open for three years. In August 2011, Christopher Nash was shot and killed in the 1800 block of South Main Street in Springfield. Law enforcement has investigated numerous leads to determine that they believe a deceased person was responsible. According to Smokey Barn News, Carricus Harris has been identified as the shooter. Black man pleads guilty to Alton murder of White man during holdup EDWARDSVILLE — A St. Louis man pleaded guilty Tuesday to a count of first-degree murder and received a minimum 20-year sentence in the fatal shooting of Tyler Hoppe of Alton. Larry Belk, 22, was going through the pockets of the victim when Nigel Generally shot the victim on Dec. 7, 2011. Belk pleaded guilty to a count of felony murder, which means that he was involved in the forcible felony, armed robbery, that caused the victim’s death. In exchange for his plea, other counts were dropped. Belk has no significant criminal record. He fled the area shortly after the killing and was arrested 10 months later in Boone County, Mo. Belk and Generally plotted to rob Hoppe, but there were witnesses who were willing to testify if called to the stand at trial. After he was arrested, Belk admitted his part in the crime. Nigel Generally of Berkley, Mo., pleaded guilty to first-degree murder. Generally was identified as the trigger man in the fatal shooting of Hoppe, 23. The shooting occurred in an alley behind Hoppe’s house. Hoppe had been alone in the alley behind his home when the two suspects tried to rob him of money at gunpoint about 8:20 p.m. Detectives said they believed Hoppe tried to resist the men, when Generally shot him in the head. Hoppe was found lying on the ground near his vehicle in the alley, mortally wounded, and died a short time later at Alton Memorial Hospital. |

Trial begins for black accused of stabbing a white Berkeley woman to death - after she refused to have sex with him  The trial of a Berkeley man accused of stabbing to death a 26-year-old woman in late 2012 began Wednesday morning in Oakland Superior Court. Attorneys for both sides said they believe Jamaal Prince, 36, killed Jennifer “Jessica” Kingeter of Berkeley in the bathroom of an Oakland apartment in December 2012. When police found her body, she was wearing pants, but her shirt had been pulled down to her waist. Hilton told jurors Kingeter had come out that night with plans to hang out with Johnson, a friend she had known since childhood. (White) Victims of violent (black) Marigny crime speak out, demand increased police presence     New Orleans - Will Ford and Tim Swartzentruber said they have lived in the neighborhood for nearly five years, but after being attacked by three gunmen who robbed them Sunday, and hearing the stories of friends and colleagues who have suffered similar fates, they say they no longer feel safe. Jeffrey Vollmer said he was out Tuesday (June 24) evening with his son and daughter when he was assaulted by a group of three men who tried to rob him.Vollmer, 45, was asked for his wallet but before he could react he was struck on the head with a "heavy, blunt object." One of the men then swung at Vollmer, he said, and he began to fight back. After struggling for a couple of minutes, Vollmer's assailants gave up and fled the scene. As a result of the attack, Vollmer had to have two staples in the top of his head, he said. Later that week, Ford and Swartzentruber were held-up at gunpoint in a similar scenario. The couple was walking near the corner of Marigny and Royal streets on Sunday morning about 2:22 a.m. when three men approached them. The group demanded that they hand over their belongings, but attacked both men before they had the chance to do so. Swartzentruber was hit over the back and neck with what he believes was a pistol. While he was doubled over in pain, Ford, who was a couple of steps ahead of Swartzentruber, had been cornered by one of the men and was struck across the face with a gun. - (Black-on-white) |
Black makes plea deal in murder of his White neighbor   SPOKANE, Wash. – What happened at an out of control North Spokane house party earned a man nearly ten years in prison on Tuesday. Treven Lewis pleaded guilty to 1st Degree Manslaughter for the beating death Frank Mott, 65. Mott was a neighbor who had come to the part to break things up. Lewis was originally charged with 2nd Degree Murder. On Tuesday, the prosecution and defense asked that Lewis serve about ten years. As part of plea deal, his sentence will range from 102 to 136 months. Frank Motta died March 15th, 2012 after suffering a critical head injury trying to break up an underage drinking party happening next door. Black, Isiah Smith Gets 5-15 Years In Fatal Oakland Shooting of White Man  PITTSBURGH – Isiah Smith, who was accused of shooting and killing a former Slippery Rock University football player, was sentenced to 5 to 15 years in prison Wednesday morning. Smith was found guilty of voluntary manslaughter in April. At the trial, prosecutors said he had no right to fire since Sheridan was running away from Smith at the time. Gov. Tom Corbett signs execution warrant for Glenn Lyons, convicted Berks killer   HARRISBURG, Pa. - A convicted killer from Berks County has been scheduled to die by lethal injection. Gov. Tom Corbett signed Monday an execution warrant for Glenn Lyons, setting Aug. 21 as his date to be put to death. Lyons was convicted of first degree murder in June 2011 and subsequently sentenced to die for the stabbing death of his lover, Kathy Leibig. ‘He’s one of those evil people’: Black man accused in White 16-year-old’s slaying appears in court   AUSTINTOWN, OHIO — The man arrested and charged in the death of a 16-year-old girl found in a local landfill appeared in court Wednesday. Police said Ricki Williams, 18, was charged with aggravated murder and kidnapping Tuesday night. Officials said Williams stabbed 16-year-old Gina Burger, of Austintown, Oh., last week. Her body was later found in a landfill in Grove City. Prosecutors said that they plan on seeking the death penalty in this case. “There is evil in the world and he’s one of those evil people. There is absolutely no rhyme or reason he would do this,” the prosecuting attorney said. It was revealed in court that Williams is homeless and is considered a flight risk. Investigators said Williams held Burger against her will in an apartment below where she lived, later killing her and dumping her body. White taxi driver killed in South Knoxville shooting, police searching for two black suspects, father and friend of victim speak out KNOXVILLE – A taxi driver was killed in a shooting Sunday afternoon in South Knoxville, and now police are searching for two suspects in the crime. The Knoxville Police Department says the shooting happened around 3:30 p.m. Sunday on Sims Road.Police identified the victim Monday afternoon as Paul Shepherd, 40, of Kingston. Officers say when they arrived at the scene, they found Shepherd had been shot more than once while inside his taxi cab. Joshua Wright saw the crashed taxi flooding with water from the fire hydrant. “He was engorged in water the whole front end was engorged in water,” said Wright. Wright went to pull the driver Paul Shepherd Jr. out of the van to start CPR that's when he says he noticed the gunshot wounds. “He had three gun shots that we saw, one in the back, one in the shoulder blade and one in the back of the skull,” said Wright. Wright says he stayed with Shepherd till officers arrived. Shepherd was taken to the hospital and later died. Investigators say they are looking for two black male suspects. The first suspect is reported to be 5 feet 10 inches tall weighing around 170 pounds with a medium build, dark complexion, short hair and wearing a teal polo shirt and khaki shorts. Caught on tape: White Vietnam veteran attacked by black trucker at convenience store   GROVETOWN, Ga. - A Vietnam Veteran was attacked at a Columbia County convenience store Monday. He said he was in line to buy water after a run, but investigators say another customer was way out of line when he punched him. After fighting for our county for 21 years, Jacob Cooter, 77, said he knows a thing or two about a fair fight. "For the man to sucker punch me, he's kind of a coward," Cooter said. Black man sentenced to death for the murder of his white wife    OKLAHOMA CITY - An Oklahoma County jury has sentenced a convicted murderer to death. Fabion Brown was found guilty for the 2012 murders of his wife, Jessica Brown, and her unborn child. The jury decided on the death penalty due to two aggravating circumstances: Brown knowingly created a great risk of death to more than one person and Brown hired someone to commit the murders for money. Brown hired a gunman so he could get the $400,000 life insurance policy. Prosecutors said real soldiers don't execute women and babies. Black suspect arrested 6 months after murder of White man on Interstate 24  MURFREESBORO, TN - Six months after the brutal murder of a Smyrna man on the side of Interstate 24, an arrest has been made. Rutherford County Sheriff's detectives arrested 23-year-old Edgar Domonique "Dom" Covington on Tuesday, charging him with the crime. Sheriff's officials are not releasing many details about how the two met or what happened on that tragic day near the Almaville Road exit on Dec. 15, 2013. Detectives got word that Covington shot and killed 47-year-old Jackie Warpoole Jr., according to the warrant. Police Arrest Black Teen Suspected Of Murdering Brother’s Girlfriend    SACRAMENTO – Police say that a teen murder suspect was arrested after an hours-long standoff early Friday morning. According to the Sacramento Police Department, 16-year-old Antoine Weber was the person arrested at a home along the 3800 block of 36th Street just after 4 a.m. The standoff between police and the suspect had been going on since late Thursday night. Investigators had been seeking Weber for the murder of 19-year-old Nichole Duarte – his brother’s girlfriend. Police say that Weber shot Duarte (in the face) back on March 15. Black Muslim female McDonald’s employee charged for brutal beating of White woman caught on tape  Police today charged a female McDonald’s employee for the vicious beating of a New Jersey woman whose two-year-old small son tried to stop the attack, a video of which went viral this week. Latia Harris, 25, has been named in a criminal complaint accusing her of aggravated assault and two counts of making terroristic threats, according to a court filing. The brutal attack occurred Tuesday evening in an open field behind a McDonald’s in Salem, a southwestern New Jersey city. Harris, pictured in the above driver’s license photo, was wearing her McDonald’s uniform as she punched, kicked, and spat on the 27-year-old victim, who was “covered in blood” when emergency service workers arrived at the scene (she was subsequently transported to a local hospital for treatment). A video of the attack was posted to Facebook, where it was copied by Salem police. Investigators reported that the victim told them that “Tia who works at McDonalds” assaulted her and accused her of spreading rumors about her and her McDonald’s manager. As seen on the video, during the assault Harris threatened to kick the victim’s son in the face. As his mother was being beaten, the boy kicked Harris several times in the leg. Colonial Heights mom just diagnosed with cancer was robbed at gunpoint by three blacks  Va. - A Colonial Heights mom went through a double mastectomy two weeks ago and last Wednesday doctors told her they didn’t catch the cancer in time. She has stage 3 cancer, but that revelation wasn’t even the worst part of her week. While working her latest job Saturday, someone fired a gun at her. She’s been delivering the newspaper since October, but after bullets came flying, “I quit on the spot,” she said. “The carriers out here get cents per paper, it’s not worth it.” With her six-year-old little girl along for the ride that morning, she said someone held her at gunpoint. “In front of my daughter,” she said. “It was a total life-changer.” Two days later, Johnny Seymour was walking home from a nearby RedBox when he found himself in a real-life drama. “He said, ‘you know what this is?’ something like that, and then, “if you run, I’m gonna’ kill you,’” recounted Seymour. Police believe Wayne Jackson, Hodari Taylor and Michael Walker are involved in Seymour’s case and said they’re also connected to the attack on the paper carrier. They were captured after a brief police chase down Wakefield Avenue Tuesday afternoon. That’s the same street where the carrier was shot at early Saturday. Wednesday, a scuba team recovered evidence from a local creek and sources say they found a weapon. White off-duty deputy killed; two black men arrested    The name of the Vermilion Parish Sheriff's deputy shot and killed in Abbeville Monday is Allen Bares Jr. of Erath. He graduated from Erath High. Bares, in his early 50s, leaves behind a wife and two children. Bares and his family are residents of Abbeville. State Police have released the names of the two suspects arrested in connection with the shooting death of Bares. The suspects have been identified as 20-year-old Quintylan Richard and 19-year-old Baylon Taylor. Richard is the alleged the shooter. He was found at a Kaplan apartment complex. Both men were charged with first degree murder. No bond had been set. They were booked into the Vermilion Parish Sheriff's Law Enforcement Center at 2:30 a.m. Tuesday. Black Woman pleads guilty to 2013 murder of Shelton State student     One of four people charged in the death of a Shelton State student last year has pleaded guilty. Tamarra Shavon Wilder, 19, pleaded guilty to murder in Tuscaloosa County Circuit Court last Thursday. She is one of four defendants accused in the death of Hunter Callahan, a 17-year-old college student from Marengo County. Callahan was found shot to death in the parking lot of River Road Condominiums on April 9, 2013. According to investigators at the time, Wilder told police that she drove the suspects to the complex that night and witnessed the shooting. The four met with Callahan under the guise of a drug transaction, authorities said, but actually intended to rob him of drugs and money. Wilder was released from the Tuscaloosa County Jail after entering the guilty plea. She will be required to wear a GPS monitoring device until her sentencing date, which has not been set, according to court documents. Clabon Berniard, 27, was found guilty in the murder of Jim Sanders during a robbery at Sanders’ home in Edgewood on April, 2010. Sanders and his wife had placed an ad on Craigslist to sell a ring. Their home was invaded and Sanders was shot to death. Berniard, Amanda Knight, Kyoshi Higashi and Joshua Reese were convicted of plotting the robbery and murder. Two blacks charged with capital murder in "burning carpet" homicide, accused of luring white victim with promise of sex  FLORENCE COUNTY, SC - Two suspects from Fort Worth were arrested Monday night and charged with capital murder in the death of 54-year-old Marion Lee Brown. Part of Brown's dead body was discovered burning inside a role of carpet along a Smith County road in May. Later the rest of his body was found in a lake in the Shreveport area. Eventually Fort Worth police located the apartment in which they believe he was killed and linked it to 30-year-old Brandon Bernard Daniels and 25-year-old Damonica Laniesha Evans. Investigators there now believe that Daniels and Evans were running a scam in which they lured victims to the apartment under false pretenses and then robbed them. - (Black-on-white) |

Officials say his father, also named Major Davis, died in 2003 while in police custody. In that incident, reports say Davis attacked officers when they tried to arrest him. Officers then sprayed him with mace. An autopsy showed Davis suffered a heart attack and had a pre-existing heart problem.
