UK: Labour Councilor Asaf Ali busted for drugs haul found in his car A Greater Manchester Police spokesman said: "Following information received by police, officers attended Brompton Street, Oldham, to search a motor vehicle. Items believed to be drugs were recovered. A man has been arrested and inquiries are continuing." He said the councillor, chairman of Oldham Council's young people and lifelong learning overview and scrutiny commission, had been released on bail. loose for 10 months * Criticism for late rapist warning POLICE were slammed last night after failing to alert the public that a rapist has been on the run for TEN MONTHS. Mohammed Saleem Hussain, 37, raped a 26-year-old woman he lured off the pavement into his car. Despite the seriousness of the offence, he was give bail to return home during his five-day trial. But he absconded before the jury gave its guilty verdict at Birmingham Crown Court in April. West Midlands police did not alert the public until last week when they released his picture. Last night Norman Brennan, of the Victims of Crime Trust, said: “Police should’ve alerted the public as soon as they exhausted their initial search for him. UK: Diversity Celebrating Youths jailed for barman killing Four members of a gang who attacked strangers at random, apparently filming some on mobile phones, have been jailed for the death of one of their victims. A 16-year-old girl, Chelsea O'Mahoney, was among four people who kicked David Morley's head "like a football" on London's South Bank in October 2004. Reece Sargeant, 21, Darren Case, 18, and David Blenman, 17, were sentenced to 12 years each for manslaughter. O'Mahoney was given an eight-year custodial sentence. UK: Black soccer star arrested for assaulting his pregnant white trophy wife Soccer star Djibril Cisse has been arrested for assaulting his eight months pregnant wife, it emerged yesterday. The £14million Liverpool striker was quizzed by cops after hairdresser Jude, who he married last summer, made a 999 call. Police raced to the couple’s £2million baronial home in Frodsham, Cheshire, and arrested 24-year-old Cisse at the scene. The French international, who stands 6ft and weighs 13st, later accepted a caution and police say they are now considering the matter closed. BNP boss 'predicted bomb attacks' British National Party leader Nick Griffin predicted Islamic terrorists would detonate bombs in major British cities, Leeds Crown Court has heard. Mr Griffin and party activist Mark Collett are accused of using words or behaviour likely to stir up racial hatred, in speeches in West Yorkshire. Mr Griffin made his prediction more than a year before the 7 July attacks. Rwandan rebel convicted of butchering 9 English-speaking gorilla tourists to death with clubs and machetes A former Rwandan soldier has been given a 15-year jail term for the murder of eight western "gorilla tourists" and a game warden in a Ugandan park in 1999. The judge spared Jean Paul Bizimana, 32, the death sentence, saying some of the tourists' home-countries view capital punishment as "abhorrent". He was among Rwandan rebels who abducted 14 tourists and their guide as they tracked rare mountain gorillas. The tourists were from the US, the UK and New Zealand. Four Britons as well as two Americans, two New Zealanders and a Ugandan game warden, were bludgeoned to death with axes and machetes in the attack. The victims were Americans Rob Haubner and his wife, Susan Miller, of Portland, Ore.; Rhonda Avis, 27, and Michelle Strathern, 26, from New Zealand; Britons Martin Friend, 24, Steven Robert, 27 and Mark Lindgren, 23, and Joanne Cotton, a driver for the London-based outfitter that organized trips to Africa, and Ugandan guide Ross Wagaba. Hannah Foster, 17, was murdered after a night out in Southampton in March 2003. Maninder Pal Singh Kohli, who lived in the city, was arrested in India in July 2004 - five days into Hannah's parents first visit to the country. UK: Mohammed Hussain charged in the death of bubbly blonde-haired 3-year-old Levi Bleasdale A Burnley man is to appear in court this morning charged with offences relating to the death of tragic tot Levi Bleasdale (pictured) in an accident in Ormerod Road last September. Meanwhile, the distraught family of little Levi, who would have celebrated her fourth birthday next week, are compiling a petition to demand justice for the little girl. Scores of the three-year-old's family and friends had originally planned to attend Burnley Magistrates' Court this morning. But Levi's grandfather, Mr Mick Ryan, said they will now be making a peaceful protest by getting a petition together to present to the Crown Prosecution Service. On Monday, police charged Mohammed Hussain, of Thurston Street, Burnley, with driving without due care and attention, failing to stop after an accident, driving otherwise than in accordance with a licence, having no insurance and handling stolen goods. Karen Ragwar and her husband John's children have lived in the Lothians all their lives. But now immigration officials have ruled they must be separated from their father or go to live thousands of miles away in a country they have never seen. Ragwar has lived in Scotland for the past eight years, arriving in 1998. South Africa: Son of UK’s High Commissioner to South Africa accused of rape A son of former Cabinet minister Paul Boateng has been accused of rape. Benjamin Boateng, 21, has been investigated over claims by an 18-year-old girl in Cape Town, South Africa. He has not been arrested and strongly protests his innocence. He says the girl consented to sex. Benjamin’s father — a friend of Prime Minister Tony Blair — has been the UK’s High Commissioner to South Africa since last year. Two Thai fishermen have confessed to the murder of the British backpacker Katherine Horton After the tests, the deputy chief of national police, General Phrewphan Damaphong, told reporters the results indicated that the DNA of both men matched evidence found on Ms Horton's body. Police said one of the suspects, Bualoi Posit, 23, told officers he had assaulted and raped Ms Horton. The other, 24-year-old Wichai Somkhaoyai, confessed to being an accomplice to her murder but denied rape. The men could face the death penalty if convicted of murder. - (NNN Newsroom) - (UK) |

Ireland: Iron Age 'bog bodies' unveiled Archaeologists have unveiled two Iron Age "bog bodies" which were found in the Republic of Ireland. The bodies, which are both male and have been dated to more than 2,000 years ago, allegedly belong to the victims of a ritual sacrifice. Black Somali 'Asylum seeker' Raped and Killed Norwegian Girl A 36-year-old asylum seeker from Somalia, who was found guilty of raping and murdering a female student at a college in Sogndal last year, was sentenced Friday to 15 years in prison .Hassan Samriye Hashin had admitted the murder. An appeals court also found him guilty of raping 19-year-old Hedda Karterudseter at Sogndal Folkehøyskole on October 28, 2004. Hashin had followed Hedda Karterudseter home to her student apartment and admitted strangling her in a fit of jealousy. He denied raping her. He had been sentenced to 16 years in prison by a lower court, which also found him guilty of both murder and rape. English girls often as young as twelve have been targeted by Asian Muslim paedophile gangs for sex, drugs and a life of prostitution. It has even got a special name - it is now called 'Grooming'. This has been highlighted numerous times in TV shows, throughout newspapers and on Internet media websites. The Asian media website 'Asians in media' reported recently that it was happening to literally hundreds of girls all over Britain. Who can forget the young child on the channel 4 documentary 'Edge of the City' who said she has had over 100 Asian sexual partners, after being 'groomed' by them.
