Black Virginia Beach rape suspect jailed on unrelated charge A man suspected in two Oceanfront rapes has been jailed on unrelated charges but will go before a grand jury on the rape charges on Oct. 5, prosecutors in Virginia Beach said yesterday. Christopher Minifee, a 29-year-old Chesapeake resident, was in circuit court on Thursday on charges of failure to appear in court and resisting arrest. At his bond hearing, prosecutors told Judge A. Joseph Canada Jr. that MInifee was suspected in sexual assaults on 24th Street in August and on 80th Street earlier this month. Black former probation officer charged with rape CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- A former state probation officer is accused of raping a woman who was under his supervision. Willie James Steele, 44, was arrested at his home. He's charged with second-degree rape and sexual activity by a custodian. Agents with the State Bureau of Investigation say the alleged victim is a 26-year-old Charlotte woman who was charged in Georgia in connection with a stolen car. Kansas City police arrest black serial rape suspect Kansas City police on Wednesday arrested a 42-year-old man suspected of beating and sexually assaulting four women from March to September. Jackson County court records allege Scott A. Harris plucked his victims off Independence, Troost and Prospect avenues by offering them rides. Two blacks arrested in Orlando home invasion and rape 'spree'  ORLANDO, Fla. -- A woman held at gunpoint in January said she feared the worst when two men appeared at her door. "I thought he was either going to rape me, shoot me or kill me in front of my family's home," said Christina Wang. The accused men, Timothy Thomas, 23, and Patrick Maxwell, 17, robbed and raped other women. the attack on Wang was the first in a series of violent home invasions that included two rapes in the Metrowest area that detectives said were conducted by Thomas and Maxwell. Black serial rape suspect makes run for it at arraignment  The suspected uptown rapist made a break for freedom at his arraignment Monday night, but only got a few yards before correction officers wrestled him to the floor. Vincent Heyward sprinted through a back door in the courtroom and into a prisoner holding area. The 21-year-old suspect earlier denied his attacks on four women ages 23 to 69.

Hispanic arrested for 2006 rape LAKE WORTH, FL--A man is behind bars for a 2006 incident involving a rape and burglary.
The victim at the time was able to identify the man as Felix Sorto-Velasquez but authorities were unable to locate Velasquez until this Sunday.
According to the arrest report, Sorto-Velasquez broke in through a bathroom window to gain access into the victim's residence. He held a t-shirt over his face to conceal his identity. Black Housekeeping head Derrick Praileau charged with second-degree murder in Essex House slay A housekeeping manager at the tony Jumeirah Essex House hotel tried to rape a gorgeous investment executive as she slept - then viciously stabbed and strangled her when she fought back, police sources told the Daily News on Sunday. Derrick Praileau, 29, slipped into the condo of Andree (Sara) Bejjani and held a 10-inch knife to her throat as she lay in bed Saturday morning, investigators said. The sex-crazed manager pulled Bejjani's nightgown over her head. Long Beach negro arrested in rape of 83-year-old woman A Long Beach man has been arrested on suspicion of raping an 83-year-old legally blind woman in her home after a DNA sample taken following a domestic violence arrest tied him to the crime, authorities said. Antonio D. Black Charged for Drugging, Raping Runaways A Jackson, Tennessee man was arrested Sunday on charges of harboring and sexually assaulting two teenage runaways. Ractus Herron faces multiple counts of rape, aggravated stautory rape, aggravated sexual battery and contributing to the delinquency of a minor. One of the runaways, a 13-year old girl, was found late Friday night at an apartment just outside Jackson city limits on Highway 70 East. She was incoherent from being intoxicated and had to be hospitalized. Black Hamilton Heights Rape Suspect DNA Matches All Four Rapes Police believe they've apprehended the serial rapist responsible for four sexual assaults in Hamilton Heights since early August. The suspect is identified as 21-year-old Vincent Heyward, of 281 Edgecombe Avenue, just blocks from where the last sexual assault took place. Officers approached Heyward on Tuesday around 12:30 a.m. because he resembled sketches of the rapist. Heyward agreed, telling the cops, "Yeah, that does look like me." Hispanic charged in rape and slayings of 2 sisters, house fire An Indiana man faces murder, rape and arson charges in the slayings of two sisters after he attended a party at one sister's house in Griffith, Indiana, authorities said. David Alex Flores, 35, of Griffith, was charged Wednesday with murdering Jennifer Evans, 28, and her sister, Kristen Evans-Kennedy, 25, and Evans-Kennedy's rape, as well as with setting fire to Evans' home after the slayings sometime late Sept. 10 or early last Friday, according to Lake County, Indiana, prosecutors. - (crime) |
Black serial rapist Victor Lamar Davis gets life for rapes of at least 11 women Serial rapist Victor Lamar Davis was sentenced in Solano County Superior Court Friday afternoon to 252 years to life in prison and two consecutive life sentences for sexual assaults in Vacaville and San Anselmo between 2004 and 2007. Davis, 27, was found guilty in August of 40 of the 53 counts filed against him in connection with the sexual assaults, burglaries, robberies and false imprisonments.

Pasco black gets three life terms in 2007 gang-rape of 66-year-old woman  The evidence against Bobby Lee Black III was overwhelming. The fact that his DNA was found on his 66-year-old rape victim may have been the most damning of all. In April, a jury needed only 45 minutes to find Black guilty of two counts of sexual battery and single counts of home invasion robbery and battery on a person over 65. They dragged her into the living room and took turns raping her, the woman testified. The men left with her camera, rosary beads and keys. As they left, one of the men kicked her in the face. Clumsy (black) home-invasion robber gets shot with own gun HAMPTON, VA - Shortly after midnight Wednesday, two armed men burst into a home in the 1100 block of East Pembroke Ave., and attacked the resident. The two assailants demanded money, while another waited outside behind the wheel of the getaway car. In the chaos, one of the robbers dropped his gun. “During the assault, one of the suspects dropped his handgun which the victim was able to retrieve. Ted Strickland ordered a weeklong reprieve for a condemned inmate Tuesday after the Ohio execution team had problems finding usable veins for the lethal injection even after the inmate tried to help. Black Found Guilty In 2006 Sexual Assault MADISON, Wis. -- A man accused of sexually assaulting a woman in her East Side home in 2006 was found guilty Thursday. A jury found Courtney M. Cowins guilty. Cowins gained entry to a home on Jana Lane through an unlocked door and violently assaulted a woman in December 2006. Prosecutors said DNA evidence linked Cowins to the crime. Alabama negro raped 16-year-old girl while drinking, police say Ala. -- A 28-year-old Foley man is being held in Baldwin County jail today, accused of sexually assaulting a 16-year-old girl last weekend in Summerdale, police said. Robert Deon Ferguson was being held at the Baldwin County Corrections Center in Bay Minette on $25,000 bail, according to records. Summerdale Police Chief Dwain Riebling said the girl was visiting a friend Friday night when Ferguson came to the house and began drinking. Cleveland black charged in 1994 rape; prosecutors say DNA linked him to crime CLEVELAND, Ohio — Maurice Mitchell, 37, of Cleveland, was indicted today by a Cuyahoga County grand jury in a 1994 rape and robbery case. Prosecutors said his DNA linked him to the unsolved case. "A 25-year-old woman was assaulted while using a pay phone on St. Clair Avenue and forced to drive to a field at gunpoint," said Ryan Miday, spokesman for the county Prosecutor's Office. Black Arrested In Robberies, Rape At ATM Baltimore County Police have arrested a 19-year-old man, charging him with a pair of ATM robberies, and the sexual assault of one of the victims. Detectives arrested Calvin Rodney Butler at his home Friday night, and he was charged early this morning with rape, first degree sex offense, kidnapping and robbery. Butler allegedly approached a 22-year-old woman from behind as she was withdrawing money. Butler demanded money and ran off after receiving it. Investigators search for negro accused of raping Augusta woman Richmond County investigators are searching for the man they say attacked and raped a woman. Willie Lee Cuyler is accused of raping a woman Sunday evening. According to investigators, the victim said she got into Cuyler's car on 9th Street in downtown Augusta. The victim told investigators she had the intentions of getting a ride home from the man. Black teen facing charges in Ybor parking garage attack Tampa Police have charged a teenager in the attack on a 38-year-old woman in a parking garage. 16-year-old Javon Cooper faces charges of Attempted Second-Degree Murder, Attempted Sexual Battery and Aggravated Battery with Great Bodily Harm. The August 18 attack occurred inside a parking garage around 3 p.m. The suspect grabbed the victim from behind and began strangling her. Fearing for her life, she pretended to pass out and eventually did lose consciousness. Recently released black felon accused of raping Eustis woman Deputies arrested a felon, released from prison less than a week ago, on charges that he allegedly broke into a woman's house in Eustis and raped her. Martrez Q. Anderson, 25, who uses at least a dozen different aliases, is currently in jail. ecords show he has a long history of arrests dating back to 2001. The victim told deputies that sometime around 9 p.m. Wednesday, Anderson knocked on her front door asking if she needed lawn service. The woman declined the offer and closed her door. Moments later, Anderson broke into her house and confronted her in the bedroom, she said. She tried to call 911, but Anderson knocked the phone from her hand. Cell phone tracks black parolee suspects in violent rapes Technology changed during the 30 years Julias Anderson sat in prison for rape, and that technology is what helped police capture Anderson after he allegedly raped a woman at knife-point Tuesday. He stole the victim's cell phone and kept it turned on. Police say that allowed them to track Anderson down. Police say Anderson is also a suspect in an August 15 sexual assault. DNA sample links black sex offender to 1986 Salisbury rape Police say DNA evidence has linked a registered sex offender to a more than two-decade-old rape case in Rowan County. Kenneth Trent McDaniel, 39, a registered sex offender convicted of rape in 1990, was arrested this week on rape and robbery charges dating back to 1986, when he was 16. The victim of the Salisbury attack was in her 30s at the time. Dale City black charged with raping a 15-year-old-girl A Dale City man has been charged with raping a 15-year-old girl. Police said 41-year-old David Lee Boyd, of 5414 Staples Lane, knew the victim. The rape was reported to police Monday, said Prince William police spokeswoman 1st Sgt. Kim Chinn. Boyd has been charged with aggravated sexual battery and taking indecent liberties with a child. Black convicted of sexual assault of 6-year-old girl A Baldwin County jury convicted a Bay Minette man this month of sexually assaulting a 6-year-old girl in 2007. Robert E. Adams Jr., 28, was found guilty Aug. 20 of first-degree sodomy, first-degree sex abuse and first-degree rape, court records show. A sentencing date has not been announced. On August 6, a 23-year-old woman reported that two suspects, who had visited her earlier in the evening, broke into her apartment and raped her while she was sleeping. Akram Abdul-Hameed arrested for rape near campus TEMPE - A man has been arrested in the early Friday morning rape of a woman who was walking on Mill Ave, right by the campus of ASU. Police say that just after midnight Friday, Akram Abdul-Hameed grabbed a woman who was walking near 4th St and Mill Ave and put his hand over her mouth. Abdul-Hameed allegedly forced the woman up a flight of stairs into a secluded area behind a business, then sexually assaulted her. She was able to yell for help briefly, and two people in the area heard her. Her assailant fled the scene just before police arrived. Police Release Video of (black) West Harlem Rape Suspect Police released video footage Friday of a man wanted in connection with a series of rapes this month in West Harlem. The last rape occurred on August 18 when a 69-year-old woman was attacked as she returned to her apartment building on Riverside Drive and 155th Street at about 4 a.m. The woman was on her way home from work, police said. The suspect was most likely already inside the building, police said. He pushed the woman into an elevator where he assaulted, raped and robbed her. Black rapist sentenced to life in prison, after he serves 28 years for manslaughter CLEVELAND — Eric Wilson, 37, of University Heights, was sentenced last month to life in prison for rape and kidnapping. Wilson grabbed a woman off the street June 23, 2007, threw her in a car and drove to a house, where he raped her and told her to shower. She escaped by jumping out of the bathroom window. A jury found him guilty of three counts of rape, two counts of kidnapping and being a sexually violent predator. Authorities arrested Van Roger Smith Jr., 16, and Sherrod Nicholas Harrison, 19, Monday afternoon. After a search, the Moore County Sheriff's Office took Michael Graham Currie, 18, into custody Monday night. All three teens were charged with one count of first-degree murder and one count of breaking and entering. All are from Cameron. Twelve-year-old Emily Elizabeth Haddock was shot to death Friday in her home on Marks Road outside of Vass, authorities said. The girl had stayed home from school with strep throat and was alone. "(She was) very quiet, soft spoken, always had a smile. Smiling Black pleads not guilty to running down a white family in McDonald's parking lot - killing 2-year-old   The black man accused of running down five white family members and killing a 2-year-old girl in the parking lot of a McDonald's restaurant in Covington last May pleaded not guilty. Lanny Perry Barnes, 46, attended the 15-minute arraignment hearing wearing street clothes and no expression on his face. Sitting behind him was Stephanie Casola, the mother who was hit, along with her two sons, niece, and sister, by Barnes' vehicle. Witnesses told police that Barnes struck the family, backed up, smiled, and drove into them again. Casola's niece, Avery King, died of her injuries. Black Sex Offender Charged With Kidnap-Rape-Kill of White 11-year-old Jacksonville Girl In 1996  Fla. -- A Connecticut sex offender will be returned to Florida to face a murder charge after being linked to the decade-old rape and drowning of an 11-year-old girl through a database of DNA from convicted sex offenders. Robert Shelton Mitchell, 43, was being held on a $5 million bond after being arraigned as a fugitive. He will face first-degree murder and capital sexual battery charges in the death of Cherie Morrisette of Jacksonville. The Mandarin Middle School student body was found on Dec. 8, 1996, floating in the St. John's River about 10 miles south of the apartment she shared with her mother and sister. An autopsy determined that Cherie drowned shortly after her disappearance on Dec. 2, 1996, and was alive when she either fell into the river or was thrown in. Police labeled the death suspicious, and authorities found a small DNA sample on her underwear and body. Mitchell lived in nearby Middleburg at the time of the girl's death, police said Thursday.
