Deliberately Understaffed Border Patrol Discourages Civilian "Minuteman' Help
TUCSON, Ariz. -- A civilian group's plan to have volunteers near the border observe and report illegal immigrants and smuggling activity to the Border Patrol represents "the recipe for a tragedy," a top agency official in Arizona says.
The organizer of the Minuteman Projectis calling for volunteers to help watch for illegal activity throughout April along a 23-mile stretch in southern Arizona's Cochise County, a major entry point for illegal immigrants and an area that previously has attracted several civilian patrol operations. Project organizer Jim Gilchrist said volunteers won't be violent or confrontational. But he said he expects hundreds of people to be involved, and some will be carrying sidearms. The operation is intended as a protest against the federal government's immigration policies and failure to protect the border, and to bring an awareness to the "illegal immigration crisis," Gilchrist said.

103 Alleged Honduran Gang Members Arrested More than 100 alleged members of the violent Honduran street gang MS-13 have been arrested in a nationwide sweep, authorities said Monday. Using information from local and state law enforcement agencies, federal agents charged 103 members of the Mara Salvatrucha, or MS-13, gang with a range of criminal and immigration charges. The arrests came in the New York, Washington, Los Angeles, Baltimore, Newark, Miami and Dallas metropolitan areas over the last several weeks. Officials said MS-13 is one of the largest and most violent street gangs in the United States, and the majority of its members are in the country illegally. The gang has carried out beheadings and grenade attacks in Central America and is known to hack their enemies with machetes in cities along the East Coast in the United States. - (Brewski)

Illegal aliens threaten U.S. medical system
Docs journal reports hospitals being closed, previously vanquished diseases being spread
"many illegal aliens harbor fatal diseases that American medicine fought and vanquished long ago, such as drug-resistant tuberculosis, malaria, leprosy, plague, polio, dengue, and Chagas disease."
Threat of TB close at hand - being imported by illegal Mexican aliens "Tuberculosis has become a disease mostly of non-U.S.-born residents, and for us that mostly means Mexico," Simpson said. "In southern New Mexico and El Paso there's a huge migrant work force that travels back and forth to Mexico. It's almost improbable to think that they won't bring the disease with them into the United States." About 25 percent of the Mexican population is infected with tuberculosis and 6 percent with multi-drug-resistant TB.
Disease, unwanted import
Contagious diseases are entering the United States because of immigrants, illegal aliens, refugees and travelers, and World Health Organization officials say the worst could be yet to come. In addition to a list of imported diseases that includes tuberculosis, sickle cell anemia, hepatitis B, measles and the potentially deadly parasitic disease Chagas, officials fear what could happen if the avian flu, which is flourishing among poultry in Southeast Asia, mutates so that it is capable of human-to-human transmission through casual contact.

Deborah Alkire, whose mother was raped twice and died after the second attack, thinks the suspect should suffer just as her mother did. Alkire said she believes that Mario Trejo-Rosales should be charged with murder, and, if convicted, should get the death penalty. "Even that would be too fast. I'd like him to suffer just like she (her mother) suffered in the hospital all those weeks," the grieving daughter said. Alkire said she thinks Trejo-Rosales, 29, an illegal immigrant from Honduras, is responsible for her mother's death.
Predatory Aliens News "Tens of thousands of violent crimes are committed each year against our children by foreign nationals who should never have been allowed to enter or stay in our country. The most disturbing aspect of this problem is the thousands of unregistered sex offenders who have entered the United States illegally and therefore are not being tracked. These dangerous sex offenders are not included in the Megan's Law data bases, and not even the police know their whereabouts or identities.

Spic
'n Span: What Happened?
"When I was a kid, "Spic 'n Span" was a synonym for clean.
Something has since altered my perception of english slang. This morning,
I saw a "Spic 'n Span" bathroom & kitchen cleanser commercial
and thought: "What an odd name!" It sounded like a racial slur
combined with an architectural term..."
NNN Editor note: we need a border-to-border 'clean sweep' of illegal aliens.
