Nigerian migrant student accused of terrorist threats EDWARDSVILLE — An attorney representing an SIUE student who authorities say wrote a note threatening a "murderous rampage," kept a gun in his campus apartment and had sought four more on the Internet said Wednesday that her client would plead not guilty to the charges against him. A day earlier, Olutosin Oduwole was charged with a felony count of attempting to make a terrorist threat and with a misdemeanor count of illegally keeping a gun on public property. Oduwole, 22, is a freshman at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville, where he lived in an apartment-style dorm in Cougar Village until Friday. According to court documents, that's the day police found a hand-written note demanding payment to a PayPal account. The note said "if this account doesn't reach $50,000 in the next 7 days then a murderous rampage similar to the VT shooting will occur at another highly populated university. THIS IS NOT A JOKE!" It appeared to refer to the shootings in April at Virginia Tech. A student there killed 32 people and injured 25 before killing himself. Prosecutor Appeals After Judge Drops Rape Charges Against Liberian Over Lack of Interpreter  ROCKVILLE, Md. — The prosecutor in the case of a Liberian native charged with repeatedly raping and molesting a 7-year-old girl said Monday that he is filing an appeal of a controversial judge's ruling that dismissed all charges because an interpreter who spoke the suspect's rare West African dialect could not be found. Montgomery County State's Attorney John McCarthy called the ruling last Tuesday by Judge Katherine Savage "improper," adding that his office has "requested that an appeal be taken to reverse the court's order." Savage ruled on July 17 that Mahamu Kanneh, a Liberian who received asylum in the U.S. and attended high school and community college here, was denied a speedy trial after three years awaiting a court-appointed interpreter who could speak the tribal language of Vai. Mahamu Kanneh, a Liberian native who received asylum in this country and attended high school and community college here, according to The Washington Post, was denied a speedy trial after three years awaiting a court-appointed interpreter who could speak the tribal language of Vai. According to witnesses who originally reported the case to authorities, Kanneh allegedly repeatedly raped and sexually molested the girl, a relative. Adhahn and the girl moved to Tacoma a short time later and lived at two different Spanaway addresses. (AP) _ A former nursing home employee has been sentenced to nearly 19 years in prison for attacking two residents. Momodou Jallow of Lenexa Wednesday was sentenced for raping one resident and trying to rape another. A Johnson County District Court jury found the 28-year-old guilty in May of the attacks at the Indian Creek Nursing Home in Overland Park. A defense attorney says Jallow would be deported to his home country of Gambia upon his release. Dozen more accuse black aide with African name of elder abuse - acused of raping 85-year-old woman A dozen more people are alleging elder abuse by a nurse's aide who was accused Wednesday of raping a resident of a Salt Lake City long-term care facility. Some of the new allegations "sound serious; they're similar type crimes," said Salt Lake City police detective Jared Wihongi about Jacob Mut Bolith, a certified nurse's aide who is being held without bail in the Salt Lake County Jail. Most of the complaints stem from his employment at other nursing homes in Salt Lake County, specifically South Salt Lake and Holladay, Wihongi said. 12-year-old White Ukrainian girl kidnapped, raped and murdered by Thai migrant perv Terapon Adhahn TACOMA, Wash. -- Twelve-year-old Zina Linnik had been sent down the alley behind her home to bring back some of her siblings, who had been watching neighbors set off July 4 fireworks, police say. Her father, Mikhail Linnik, heard her scream, found a single flip flop on the ground and saw a boxy gray van driving away. His denoscription of that van eventually led authorities to a man jailed this week on an immigration complaint -- and information from that man led them to the little girl's body. The family moved from Ukraine about 10 years ago; Zina was one of eight children.The denoscription of the gray van and part of its license plate, glimpsed by the girl's father, led them to Terapon Adhahn, 42, a Thai immigrant who was convicted of incest in 1990. A search of the home where Adhahn had been staying turned up "girl's undergarments," according to a search warrant return. Investigators and forensic experts from the FBI searched the home on Monday, seizing items including used vacuum cleaner filters, bedding, black plastic sheeting and the undergarments. Adhahn was later transferred to federal immigration detention in Tacoma because he could face deportation for his 1990 incest conviction, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement spokeswoman Lorie Dankers said earlier this week. African migrant raped his paralyzed patient in her own hospital bed  SEATTLE - A man who was accused of raping a paralyzed patient in her own hospital bed has been set free after a judge declared a mistrial due to a hung jury. Four jurors said there just isn't enough evidence to convict Lamin Darboe of the crime. One of the jurors said her gut feeling is Lamin Darboe is guilty, but based on the testimony and exhibits, she had to vote not guilty. Prosecutors insisted Darboe, a nursing assistant at Kindred Hospital, raped his own patient in her hospital bed. A stroke left the 32-year-old woman paralyzed and unable to speak. Darboe was responsible for her daily care, including sponge baths. While eight jurors said they would have found him guilty, four others could not be convinced. None of the jurors knew that this wasn't the first time Darboe was accused of a sex-related crime. The judge ruled his history inadmissible. In 2001, Darboe was charged with rape in Snohomish County. The case was dismissed. In 2003, another rape accusation, but Darboe was acquitted. And in 2002, Swedish Medical fired him for allegedly inappropriately touching a patient. The jury also didn't know that after Darboe was arrested, he fled the country to his native homeland of Gambia. Black migrant from Trinidad and Tobago arrested for serial rapes in NY An athlete from Trinidad and Tobago, who was part of the relay team at the 2000 Sydney Olympic Games, has been arrested in New York, accused of being a serial rapist. Alvin Henry, 30, was reportedly held on Sunday, shortly after he allegedly raped a woman who police said was his fifth victim in four years. Investigators dubbed the suspect the Lover's Lane rapist, because the crimes were carried out in public parks and the victims were involved in intimate trysts shortly before the attacks. He was arrested at a park when an alleged victim saw him and called the police. Henry was arrested when police allegedly traced calls he made on a cell phone to a 15-year-old girl who was allegedly assaulted.
Investigators are said to have linked Henry to the June 26, 2003 rape of a 19-year-old at a Baisley Park in Jamaica, New York, the August 4 attempted rape of a woman at Roy Wilkens Park, Jamaica, and the assault, last April 27, of a 15-year-old girl in Prospect Park.
